Loban & Agarbatti
The fragrance of frankincense rising at twilight.
Loban (frankincense) and premium agarbatti burned in your name at the Mazar Sharif during the evening Roshni ceremony, when the dargah is at its most luminous.
Five times a day the dargah is filled with smoke from a brass burner — the loban — its fragrance carrying upward like a whispered prayer. To have it burned in one's name is an old and beloved tradition of remembrance.
We perform the offering during the evening Roshni, as oil lamps are being lit and qawwals begin to sing. A short audio recording of the qawwali at that hour is sent to you as a keepsake.
